On the planet Oz there are 8 days in a week, Sunday to Saturday and another day called Oz day. There are 36 hours in a day and each hour has 90 minutes while each minute has 60 seconds. As on earth the hour hand covers the dial twice every day. Find the approximate angle between the hands of a clock on Oz when the time is 15:40 am

  In my opinion...
  36 hours.... means 18 hours of the clock.
  In 18 hours it covers by hour hand = 360 degree.
  In 1 hour it covers by hour hand = 20 degree.
  in 90 mins it covers = 20/90 degree
  in 40 mins it covers = (20/90) * 40 = 80/9 degree
  Now min hand :-
  In 90 min it covers = 360 degree.
  in 40 min = 160 degree.
  thus angle b/w min and hour hand s = 160 - 80/9 = 151.

• as there are 90 minutes in a hr den at 12:45 angle will b 180 degree n at 12:40 angle will b less den 180 degree so d ans can b 136 or 146..

• the oz planet has a clock of 18 hours so ter is 36 hrs per day
  total angle is 360 degree, therefore for 1 hour it is 360/18 =20
  so 1 hour = 20
  but 1 hour has 90 min
  so 90 min= 20
  so for 1 min it is, 20/90 =0.22222
  so 1 min=0.222
  at 15.40,
  i) 15-8=7
  8 is bcoz at 40th min the clock stikes at 8
  for 1 min it is 20, therefore for 7 it is 7*20=140
  ii) at 15.40,
  40*0.2222=8.8888
  
  therefore the solution is i+ii = 140+8.888 =148.88
  so approximately, ans would be 146 degrees.
