Q. If u were to plant trees in a square field of side 100ft such that the distance between each tree is atleast 10ft, how many trees can u plant?
Read Solution (Total 10)

- no of trees = 10+10+8+8= 36

- no of tress = 11+11+9+9 = 40
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(5)
- no of trees : 40
on one side there will be 11 trees creating 10 gaps in between each gap of 10 ft. following the same measurement of gaps on each of the adjacent two sides there will 9 trees as two sides will have two trees in common with their pependicularly adjacent sides...and on the rest 4th side there will be 11 trees creating gaps each of 10 ft.
so result is: 11+9+11+9= 22+18= 40.

- In my view its 121
i.e. 11*11.
we have square area. so we can plant on total area of square field. - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(1)
- 36 because, when you consider 10 for one side and then start counting for other, just start counting a tree less for each side when in common. so, 10+9+9+8=36

- Total : 85
9*9=81 + 4 (in the corners)
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(3)
- There can be 39 trees planted.
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(4)
- 11+10+10+9=40
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(1)
- the situation can be visualized as a 11*11 matrix
we know that the total number of elements in such a matrix =
11*11=121 trees. - 6 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
