- For 1 hour, 10minutes is slower, then for
06 miuntes - 1 minutes is slower
30 minutes - 5 minutes
Actual time false time
12 12
01 PM 12.50 PM (10 minutes slower)
02 PM 01.40 PM (12.50 + 60 min - 10 minutes slower)
03 PM 02.30 PM (01.40 + 60 min - 10 minutes slower)
03.36 PM 03.00 PM (02.30 + 36 min - 6 minutes slower )
So, 36 minutes will be lost when it is showing 3.00 PM. and the actual time is 3.36 PM - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(26) No(4)
- One thing to understand here is that, the question is not to find the number of minutes lost in 3 hours. The question is to find the number of minutes lost in a time t where 't' is the time taken by the faulty clock to go from 12 to 3 (which is definitely not 3 hours but more). For every 60 minutes, it loses 10 min which simply means for every 6 min, it loses 1 min. In general, for every 6X minutes, it loses 1X minutes. To travel 12 to 3, it has to compensate for the loss also. In other words, we want (total time taken by the clock- total time lost=180 minutes). 6X-1X=180..... which gives X= 36. Therefore, the clock takes 6X=6*36=216 minutes to travel from 12 to 3. But actually, 12 to 3 is equal to 180 minutes which means the clock has lost 36 minutes. Hence, the answer, 36 minutes.

- it will lost 10min only. As,clock shows 10mins less for each 1 hour i.e. when it shows 12noon, the actual time is 12:10pm and clock continues in same pattern and when it will show 3pm then actual time will be 3:10pm so thr will be loss of 10min only.

- for 1pm it shows 12:50 pm=10 mins lost
for 2pm it shows 1:40pm=10 mins lost
for 3 pm it shows 2:30pm=10 mins lost
consider 2:30pm in ur handwatch from 2:30 it takes 6 mins to reach 3:00pm( 2:30->2:35=1 min,2:35->2:40=1 min,2:40->2:45=1 min,2:45->2:50=1 min,2:50->2:55 pm=1 min,2:55->3:00pm=1 min totally 6 mins)
therefore 10+10+10+6=36 mins - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(0)

- answer is : 35 min 41 secs
at actual time 3.00 pm it shows 2:30, ie. it had losted 30 min.
when it shows 2:57:5 , ie. it had lost 35 min
when it shows 3.00 it had lost 35 min 41 secs approximately. since for 1 min it lost 1/6 minutes.
