Q. Rashmi can do a piece of work in 16 days. Ravina can do the same work in 12 days while Gitika can do it in 32 days. All of them started to work together but Rashmi leaves after 4 days. Ravina leaves the job 3 days before the completion of the work. How long the work last?

  rashmi work 4 day,ravina work (x-3) day and gitika work x days
  so according to question
  4/16+(x-3)/12+x/32=1
  (24+8x-24+3x)/96=1
  11x=96
  x= 96/11 days(9 days apporex...)

• r+r+g complete in 4 days= 4*(1/16+1/12+1/32)= 17/24
  gitika complete in 3 days= 3/32
  remaining work=[1-(17/24+3/32)]=19/96
  ravina+ gitika complete in 1 day=(1/12+1/32)= 11/96
  so 19/96 work done in(96/11*19/96)= 1( approx)
  so total time required is (4+3+1)= 8 day ( approx)

  x/32 + (x-3)/12 + 4/16=1

  work done by them in 3 days is 3/16, 3/12, 3/32 resp.
  after which ravina leaves.
  so work left is 1-(3/16 + 3/12 +3/32) = 15/32
  now this has to be completed by rashmi and geetika..
  rashmi leaves after 4 days .. so more 1 day work needs to be done by rashmi after ravina leaves.
  so work left after rashmi leaves is 15/32 - ( 1/16 + 1/32) = 12/32 = 3/8
  now gitika needs to complete the left work.
  1/32 is done in 1 day so 3/8 work will be done in 1* 32* 3/8 =12 days.
  so total no of days required is:
  3(after which ravina leaves) + 1( more one day after which rashmi leaves) + 12( reqd days by gitika to complete remaining work) = 16 days

  gitika alone work for 3 days=3/32
  therefore work done during this 7 days=77/96
  this work will be done by ravina and gitika 3days before completion
  (77/96)/(1/12+1/32)=7 days will be taken by them
  hence total 7+3+4 =14 days

  =>a+b+c=3 days,b+c=5days,c=2 days
  =>3(a+b)+5(b+c)+5c=1
