first find the difference between each no: 4-1=3, 9-4=5, 25-9=16, 35-25=10, 63-35=28.
Now write all the differences in a series,
3, 5, 16, 10, 28
now just follow the differences series alternatively like : 3, 16, 28 and 5, 10
if u see the 3,16,28 series its gradually decreasing with some no with 13 and 12 and the next difference can be expected as 11.
and if u see the 5,10 series its gradually increasing as with 5 difference so the next no can be expected as 15.
but we need the next no to the 63 in the main given series.
So, for the next no to the 63 is 78 by following the 5,10,15 series.

2nd number: 1 x 2 + 2 = 4
3rd number: 4 x 2 + 1 = 9
4th number: 9 x 2 + 0 = 18
5th Number: 18 x 2 -1 = 35
hence the answer;
