- loss is equal to the value of duplicate note only i.e Rs 1000/-.
He received Rs 1000/- from next shopkeeper and returned the same to him and got duplicate note back. so no loss on this account.
Shpkeeper paid Rs 800 to lady and goods worth Rs 200/- for duplicate note.
so actual loss= Rs 1000/- as he is selling the goods with zero profit. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(16) No(6)
- answer 200+800+1000=2000
because shopkeeper gives good of rs 200
he also gives change of rs 800
and due to duplicate note he returns rs 1000
so shopeeper faced loss of rs 2000.

- 1000 rs (which the other shopkeeper took away from him)
+ 200( for goods which the woman took)

total:1200

- I think the ans should be 1000rs. because lady came with a fake note that means.. she came with no value and she gained 200 worth goods and 800rs which the shopkeeper paid her. so the total loss the shopkeeper suffered was 200+800=1000.

- Duplicate note which he collected from lady rs 1000+
Goods worth which he sold to that lady rs 200+
Change of return which he gave to the lady rs 800
Total loss he incurred rs 2000 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(7) No(11)
- ans is d)2000
he returns 1000/-to other shop keeper,800 to lady, price or goods=200
total loss=1000+800+200=2000/- - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(7) No(4)
- Do all agree that he got a duplicate note of rs 1000.
yes
so finally he got loss of rs 1000-------1st thing
he gained nothing.
Now he gets change of Rs 1000 from neighbour ,but dont think of that
because he brought 1000rs and gave back 1000rs,So its just confusing condition given
So now also he remain with 1000rs loss.............2nd thing
Now the product cost was 200rs,means he has put that 200rs in buying that product.
Now he sold that product at 200rs but actually he dont got that 200rs,so he was loss in buying that 200rs+selling it at 200rs=loss of total 400rs
And also he gave 800rs more
so total lost is 1200rs
so option c is correct i.e 1200rs - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(6) No(3)
- @dipin
yaa u wer right,
but along with that duplicate note he sold that product also without any money,
so total loss is that duplicate note + product price=1200 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(6) No(4)

- Lady Gives = Rs. 1000/- note
Shopkeeper after taking change gives-
Goods = Rs. 200
Cash = Rs. 800
Now, shopkeeper is at no profit no loss as he is having Rs. 200 in cash as against his goods of Rs. 200
Now the next shopkeeper demands his Rs. 1000 back
So, after being at no profit and no loss, shopkeeper has to pay Rs. 1000 back, which is his loss
Loss = Rs. 1000/-
We lost Goods worth Rs. 200
Cash worth Rs. 800 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(4)
- Answer will be 1000 Rs.
When the 2nd shopkeeper asked for his money back , In that condition 1st shopkeeper gave 200 Rs. back which he got from 2nd shopkeeper. It means loss is 200 Rs. But after that he also gave 800 Rs. more to the 2nd shopkeeper to complete 1000Rs.
Therefor loss is 800+200=1000Rs. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(4)
- ANSWER= 1000/-
since he doesn't get any profit out of selling the product, he has paid 200 for it
if we take the amount of money he had as 0, now his balance would be -200/-
he got 1000/- from the lady (which was fake, but lets not consider that for now as he exchanges it with the other shopkeeper)
so now after he gets change he has 1000 out of wich he gives 800 to the lady and hence he has 200 remaining.
balance now becomes -200+200=0
later the other shopkeeper takes 1000 back from him, n hence his balance now is -1000/-
therefore his loss was 1000/- - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(1)

- S1 sold 200Rs worth of goods. got paid 200Rs. Transaction neutralised.
S1 gave change to customer 800rs.
S1 gave full refund of 1000rs to S2.
800+1000=1800rs. - 6 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- shopkeeper has 0 profit on that goods.
shopkeeper return that lady 800/- and keep 200/-(price) to him.
Now, another shopkeeper comes to him and claiming that gives me 1000/-
Now, shopkeeper must return that 1000/-
So, shopkeeper losses = 800+200+800 =1800/- - 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- 800 becpuse, with respect shopkeaper 1 lets take his account as 0 initially. So Lady with note worth 0 Rs. takes good worth 200 Rs (-200), Now in return of fake note he gets 1000 Rs change(=1000), now he pays back 800 Rs to lady(-800), the secong shopkeaper finds out it is fake so 1 shopkeaper gives back 800 Rs since he already having 200 Rs left (-800). Hence tOtal loss would be (-200+1000-800-800=-800). Loss is 800.
