Lets Stsrt with 35 Flowers , When he enter in the first temple his flowers gets
double. Now total flowers are 70 then he offers 40 flowers in the first temple.
After this he went to 2nd temple . now total flowers are (70-40)*2=60 ,
There he also offered 40 flowers , Therefore 20 flowers are remain.
In the last temple when he enters his flowers gets double ,
Now total Flowers are 20*2=40 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(6) No(0)

- 35 Flowers
If Pujari enters with x flowers,
Flowers remaining after coming out of temple 1=2x-40
Flowers remaining after coming out of temple 2=2[2x-40]-40=4x-120
Flowers remaining after coming out of temple 3=2[4x-120]-40=0
8x-280=0,x=35 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(0)
- 40
starts with = x
enters first temple doubles= 2*x
offer = 40
remaining= 2*x-40
enter second temples=2*x-40
doubles= 4*x-80
offers= 40
remaining= 4*x-120
enter third temple=4*x-120
doubles=8*x-240
offers= 8*x-280
finally
8*x-280=x
7*x=280
x=40 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(5)

- ans 35
from home he bought X flowers
at first temple his flowers doubled 2X and offered 40 of them, remaining=2X-40.
at second temple his flowers doubled 2*(2X-40)=4X-80 again at second temple he gave 40 flowers then remaining=4X-80-40=4X-120.
in the same way at third temple his flowers doubled 2*(4X-120)=8X-240 and he gave 40 flowers and remaining flowers=8X-240-40=8X-280.
when he went home he has no flowers i;e zero. so
8X-280=0
X=280/8 =35 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- In third temple he offered 40 n nothing left means he entered with 20 ..
In sec temple he offered 40 n 20 left ....so aftere doubling he has total 60 flowers. means he entered with 30
Now in first temple he offered 40 n left WD 30 .so total 70 flowers after doubling.. so he brought 35 from home - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- 35.
at first temple 35X2 = 70
after offering 40, now the no of flowers will be 70-40 = 30
at second temple 30X2 = 60
after offering 40, now the no of flowers will be 60-40 = 20
at third temple 20X2 = 40
after offering 40, now the no of flowers will be 40-40 = 40
Now the Pujari has no flowers in his hand..
thus the answer is 35

- 35.. 35+35=70 then 70-40=30-> Ist temple
30+30=60 then 60-40=20 -> IInd temple
20+20=40 then 40-40=0-> III temple, so ans is 35.. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- he started with 35 flowers,last he has given 40 means 20 flowers doubled,before that-2ndtime- 40,20+40
=60 half of 60 is 30,then add first 40 i,e 30+40=70 so 70/2=35 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- gate 1:2a-40
Gate 2: 4a-120
Gate 3: 8a-280 = 0, hence a = 35 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- let the number of flowers he bought from home were = x
then double of flower = 2x
40 flowers offered in temple = 2x-40
again repeat = 2(2x-40)-40
again = 2(2(2x-40)-40)-40
and he left with Zero flowers
so 2(2(2x-40)-40)-40=0
by solving it
x=35 - 6 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- 2(2(2X-40)-40)-40=0
which gives you 35 . - 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
