A snail is at the bottom of a well 30 feet deep. It crawls up 3 feet each day, but at night, it slips down 2 feet. How long does it take for the snail to crawl out the well?
Read Solution (Total 5)

- 28 days.
As it slips down 2 feet per day that means it crawls only 1 feet per day. So, in 27 days it crawls 27 feet and in the 28th day it reaches 30 feet. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(9) No(0)

- Takes 12 hours(during day) to travel 3 feet upwards.
Takes 12 hours(during nigt) to travel 2 feet downwards.
So total progress in 24 hour is 3-2 = 1 feet
So, total time taken to get out of well(that is progress all 30 feet) = 24*30 hours - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(5)
- Answer is 30 days, finally it took 30 days to reach, on 28th day it reaches to 30 feet but again it slips down to 2 feet.
