A cube is cut into 216 parts. the 2nd 4th n 6th layers of the front face r removed n den painted
black. Now answer d following questions.
1) How many cubes r painted on only one side?
2) How many cubes r painted on only 2 sides?
3) How many cubes r painted on only 3 sides?
4) How many cubes r painted on only 4 sides?
5) How many cubes r painted 0 sides?

• No. of cubes=(sides)^3
  then,216=(sides)^3
  sides=6
  In cube total six face but in ques 3 face r removed then only 3 face r there.
  no of cubes painted only one side=(x-2)^2* no. of faces
  =(6-2)^2*3
  =48
  no of cubes painted only 2 sides=(x-2)*no. of edges
  =4*12
  =48
  no of cubes painted only 3 sides=8 always
  because there are 8 corner in cubes
  no.of cubes painted 0 sides=(x-2)^3
  =4^3=64

  216 =n^3
  6^3=n^3
  so n=6
  and friends these are the direct formula to know number of sides painted
  o sides painted--->(n-2)^3
  1 side painted---> 6(n-2)^2
  2 sides painted--->12(n-2)
  3 sides painted--->8
  for 4 sides i dont know ..
