What is the area of the largest triangle that can be inscribed in a semi circle of radius 'r'?
Read Solution (Total 2)
-
- Area of triangle = 1/2*base*height
For the area to be maximum base*height must be maximum.
So for a semi circle the max base can be its diameter=2*r
and height can be equal to the radius r;
hence area of max triangle that can be inscribed in a semi-circle is
=>1/2*2*r*r=r^2
ans r^2 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- the perpendicular drawn to diameter of circle of radius may be the longest height
of a triangle,
so base of a triangle is the diameter 2r with the height of radius of circle r.
therefore,area of that triangle=1/2*base*height.
=1/2*2r*r.
=r^2.so the height. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
