A pipe can fill a tank in 16hrs.due to a leak in the bottom of the tank it is filled in 24hrs. if the tank is full. how much time will the leak take to empty it?

Let x be d time taken to empty d tank due to a leak

in 1 hr td tank ll fill 1/24 part of the tank due to a leak

1/16 - 1/x = 1/24
x - 16 = 16x/24 ==> x-16 = 2x/3
3x - 48 = 2x
x = 48 hrs
the tank ll be emptied in 48 hrs
