Q. If 4$5=1649 and 3$4=145, then 2$3 = ?

  4^5 + 5^4 = 1024+ 625 = 1649
  3$4=145,
  3^4 +4^3 = 81+ 64 = 145
  
  similarly
  2$3 = 2^3 +3^2 =8+9=17

• $ here represents exponent....4*4*4*4*4=1024 and in reverse 5*5*5*5=625 and the sum gives 1649,likewise (3)4=81 &(4)3=64 hence 81+64=145.
