On the planet Oz, there are 8 days in a week - Sunday to Saturday and another day called Oz day. There are 36 hours in a day and each hour has 90 minutes while each minute has 60 seconds. As on earth, the hour hand covers the dial twice every day. Find the approximate angle between the hands of a clock on Oz when the time is 12:40 am.

it will cover 360 degrees in 18 hours.
In 1 hr , hour hand will cover 360/18 degree = 20 degree.
In 12 hr, it will cover 12*20 degree=240 degree
also given 1hr = 90 min
so 90min= 20 degree
1min = 20/90 =2/9 degree
so 40 min= 40*(2/9)=8.88(app)
so total angel covered by the hour hand is=240+8.88=248.88 degree
In case of the minute hand
360 degrees are covered in 90 minutes
so in 1 min= 360/90=4 degree is covered.
so 40 min= 40*4= 160 degree
the angle covered by the hour hand is= 248.88 degre
and the angle covered by minute hand is = 160 degree
