Age Problem
The ratio between the present ages of P and Q is 3:4 .Four years hence Q will be five years older than P. What is P’s present age?
Read Solution (Total 6)
-
- Ratio of Present age => P : Q = 3:4
Present age of (P : Q) ll be (3x : 4x)
P = 3x
Q = 4x
4 years after, age of P, Q ll be
(Q+4) = (P+4)+5
Q = P+5
4x = 3x + 5
x = 5
Present age of (P:Q) is (3x:4x) => 15:20
P = 15 years
Q = 20 years
Ans : 15 years - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(34) No(1)
- Let P's present age be 3x and Q's present age be 4x.
After 4 years =>(4x+4) - (3x+4) = 5
x=5
So, P's present age = 3*5=15 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(0)
- Let age of P be 3 x
Then Q age 4x
4 years hence means four years later
P age= 3x+4
Q age=4x+4
Given, Q =P+5, after 4 years, t
Thus
4x+4=3x+4+5
Thus x=5
Thus P's present age 3*5=15 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- 15let ps age bexthen qs age be x5xx534x15
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(1)
- x/x+5=3/4
x=5
present ages are in the ratio 3x:5x.
then p age is 3x=3*5=15
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- p=15 & q=20
- 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
