If O is the centre of a circle of radius r, AC , BC are chords of length (r-2) & (r+16) what is the radius of the circle?

  Given length of chord BC is r+16.
  Given options for radius are in range of 5 to 14.
  No chord can have length more than 2r i.e diameter.

• maximum length of a chord can be the length of diameter of that circle...if we consider option a r=8 then r-2=6 and r+16=24(>2r) not possible...if u will do in this manner only the last option which was 17 (not 7) is correct

  (r-2)/(r+16)=√3r^2-18r-256/√3r^2+4r-4
  from option 17 is the answer option D17 is given not 7
