Age Problem
Total of the ages of A, B ahd C at present is 90 years. Ten years ago, the ratio of their ages was 1: 2: 3. What is the age of B at present
Read Solution (Total 22)
-
- A+B+C = 90
(A-10) : (B-10) : (C-10) => 1:2:3
Total age before 10 years = 90-30 = 60
A's age before 10 years = 60*1/(1+2+3) = 10
B' age before 10 years = 60*2/6 = 20
C' age before 10 years = 60*3/6 = 30
B's present age = 20+10 = 30
Ans : 30 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(40) No(3)
- Let their ages 10 years ago is x, 2x and 3x years.
(x + 10) + (2x + 10) + (3x + 10) = 90 hence x= 10
B’s present age = (2x + 10) =30 years.
ANSWER: 30 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(27) No(0)
- 1x+2x+3x=90 ten years ago so x-10+2x-10+3x-10=90
6x-30=120
x=20
B age is 2x So B=40 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(7) No(11)
- A+B+C=90
THEN AGE OF B = 90*2/6=30 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(0)
- ans=30
let x be the common age of all the three
ten years their ratios are let x,2x,3x
at present the ages of a,b,c are x+10,2x+10,3x+10
total ages of a,b,c at present =90
=>x+10+2x+10+3x+10=90
=>6x+30=90
=>x=10
now ages of a,b,c at presant are 20,30,40 respectively
then age of b at present =30 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(1)
- lets take ages as 1x, 2x, 3x
add all 1x+2x+3x=90, then x=15.
now 2x=30, so ans=30.........
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- A+B+C=90
10 years ago, A-10:B-10:C-10::1x:2x:3x
so, A=x+10 B=2x+10 C=3x+10
A+B+C=x+10+2x+10+3x+10=6x+30
this implies 6x+30=90 hence x=10
age of B is 2x+10=2(10)+10=30years
age of A is x+10=10+10=20years
age of C is 3x+10=3(10)+10=40years
totally we get 90 years
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(1)
- The answer is 30.
suppose their ages 10 years ago was x, 2x and 3x years.
(x + 10) + (2x + 10) + (3x + 10) = 90 hence x= 10
so B’s present age = (2x + 10) =30 years. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- Ans is 30 years
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- A - 20
B - 30
C - 40
AND 10 years ago age was
a - 10
b -20
c- 30 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(4)
- ten yrs ago:x+2x+3x=90-30
6x=60
x=10
present age of b=2x+10=30
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(1)
- 30 yrs. let 20,30,40 be the ages of A
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- present age ie is total-->90
so before 10 years it will be 90-30=60(coz 10 years minus from all 3)
now
1x+2x+3x=60
6x=60
x=10
b's age 10 years ago is 2*10=20
present age is 20+10=30
ans=30 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- present ages: 15:30:45 as 10 years ago their ages in the ratio 1:2:3 so sum finally 15+30+45=90 So, B's age is 30
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- 45..
45 satisfies the question
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(3)
- Today
A+B+C = 90 yrs
10 yrs ago
A B C
x + 2 x + 3x = 60
6x = 60
x = 10
Therefore today B = 20+ 10 = 30 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- At Present A+B+C=90
10 Years ago (A-10):(B-10):(C-10)=1:2:3
total age before 10 years=60 years
so x+2x+3x=60 =>x=10
B's age before 10 years=2 x 10=20
At present 20+10=30 years - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- 30 is a ans
- 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- Total ages of A+B+C=90 yrs
ten years ago the ratios of their ages was 1:2:3
so let there ages 10 years ago be
x-10 +2x-10 + 3x-10 = 90
6x-30=90
6x=90+30
6x=120
x=20
therefore Age of B at present is 2x-10=2(20)-10
=40-10
=30; - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- x+2x+3x=90-60
6x=60
x=60/6
x=10
age of b at present=2x+10=2*10+10=30 - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- Sum of present ages(A+B+C)= 90
Ratio of 10 years ago A:B:C= 1:2:3
=>sum of 10 years ages= 90-30=60
now ratio 1+2+3--------60
this gives 6_____60 => 1_____10
B's age of 10 years ago = 10*2= 20
B's present age = 20+10=30 - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- A=1;
B=2;
C=3;
B=2/6 /* 2/(1+2+3) */
90*2/6;
90*1/3;
=30 - 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
