Choose one answer.
a. Rs. 5
b. Rs. 6
c. Rs. 6.5
d. Rs. 7
Read Solution (Total 3)
-
- let the price of eggs per dozen=x
total no of dozens for 80=80/x
20% reduction
so,rate for dozen=(80/100)*x
now total no of dozens he can buy =80/{(80/100)*x}
according to question
80/{(80/100)*x}=(80/x)+4
100/x=80/x +4
20/x=4
x=5
so option a is correct

- let the price of dozen eggs be x
no of dozens=80/x
now price is 0.8x
now total no of dozens=80/0.8x
so at last 80/0.8x=80/x+4
so 80*0.2/0.8x=4
by solving x=5
