A B and C run a race with A finishing 48 meters ahead of B and 72 meters ahead of C while runner B finishes 32 meters ahead of runner C.Each runner travels the entire distance at a constant speed .What is the length of the race

So, ratio of speed of B to C is 48:40 i.e. 6:5
distance ratio also same, because time same.
Let's assume total distance is 6x
So, (Distance by B)-(Distance by C)=32
6x-5x=32
x=32
6x=192 meter
but other multiple of 32 also possible

so if we let speed of c is 1m/minute then b's speed is 3m/minute
diff per minute betw b and c is 2 meter
so in first statement diff is 24 meter i.e. b travelld 12 minutes and a and c also travelled 12 minutes...
now diif betw a and b is 48 meter in 12 minutes in first minute
so diff betw them per minute is 4 meter
so speed of a=b+4=7 meter per minute
