A factory employs skilled , unskilled workers and clerks in the ratio 8:5:1 and the wages of them are in the ratio of 5:2:3. when 20 unskilled workers are employed the total wages amount to 318 what is the daily wages paid to each type of worker
Read Solution (Total 6)
-
- Number of skilled worker: unskilled worker: clerks = 8:5:1 and the ratio of their respective Wages = 5:2:3
Hence the amount will be paid in the ratio 8 × 5 : 5 × 2 : 3 × 1 = 40 : 10:3
Hence total amount distributed among unskilled workers
318 x 10 / (40+10 +3) = Rs 60.
But the number of unskilled workers is 20, so the daily wages of unskilled worker
60/20 = rs.30
The wages of a skilled worker, an unskilled worker and a clerk are in the ratio = 5:2:3
Multiplying the ratio by (5/2) and (3/2)we get = 7.50 : 3 : 4.50
So, if an unskilled worker gets Rs.3 a day then a skilled worker gets Rs. 7.50 per day a clerks Rs. 4.50 a day - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(17) No(6)
- Number of workers
32 skilled 20 unskilled and 4clerks
Then wages are divided in the ratio 240:60:18 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(5) No(5)
- Since the ratio of workers and their salary is given, even if the absolute no. of workers are unknown, ans can be obtained. Here is how.
We know that ratio of workers as 8:5:1 and their wages as 5:2:3. Now any category of worker (Skilled, Unskilled or clerk) would earn in the ratio of their nos. and wages i.e., multiply individual category ratio with their wages
Thus we have 8x5 : 5x2 : 1x3 or ratio of 40:10:3 Now this is the ratio of wages paid to each worker category. Thus the final calculation would be 40/53 x 318 = 240
10/53 x 318 = 60
& 3/53 x 318 = 18. - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
