Arithmetic
Two series, s1 and s2 each of 150 termare1,5,9......and 3,6,9.......respectively.how many terms of
s1 and s2 are identical ?
Read Solution (Total 7)
-
- 1,5,9,13,17,.....,(1+149*4=597)
3,6,9,12,15,....,(3+149*3=450)
series of common terms
9,21,33,45,... < = 450
tn=a+(n-1)d
put a=9 tn=441 d=12
ans n=37 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(47) No(0)
- 1,5,9,13,17,.....,(1+149*4=597)
3,6,9,12,15,....,(3+149*3=450)
series of common terms
9,21,33,45,... < = 450
=> n = 36 terms are identical - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(13) No(11)
- 450 is the last digit, not total term

- how do u know that there are 450 common terms @rakesh
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(3)
- from how an=441......in series si and s2 we have to find the common one if we use 450 as the identical term then in series one 450 is not present as a+(n-1)d=450 is in fraction n can not be in fraction number should be divisible by putting 441 is correctly divisible in both the series

- There are 47 common between both series
