Time Distance and Speed
Two trains are travelling between two stations at a constant speed of 25kmph.The stations are 50km apart .A bird traveling at 100kmph starts its flight along with one train and travels in the same direction until it meets the other train. It changes its direction and goes in the reverse direction until it meets the initial train. Find the distance travelled by the bird before the two trains collide.

- trains will travels 1 hr to meet each other
in 1 hr bird will travel=100kms
so will be 100kms.. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(11) No(12)
- very funny!!!!!

- 100 km
as the traviling at 25 kmph so they will collide at 25 km after 1hr
in 1 hr bird travels 100*1= 100 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(5)
- 100 km is the answer because two trains meet after an hour so in one hour bird travels 100 km so 100 km is the answer

- distance between two station is 50
first train and bird start with speed of 25km/hr and 100km/hr
the bird will meet second train t=50/(100+25)=0.4 hr
in 0.4 hr the both trains had moved 0.4*25=10 means both trains moved 20 km
than distance b/w first train and bird is 30 so time taken to meet first train is t=30/(100+25)=0.24
time for travel the bird is 0.4+0.24=0.64
distance = 0.64*100=64 km
ans is 64

- train will collide after 1 hour because,both trains speed are same i.e 25km/hr
distance travelled by in 1hr by bird=1*100= 100 kms Ans..

- Find the time elapsed when trains collide (t)
25t + 25t = 50
50t = 50
t = 1 hr until collision
:
Find how far the bird flies in 1 hr at 100 km/hr, obviously, 100 km for the bird

- train and bird is travelling in same direction.so, relative speed is (100-25)=75 kmph.
and again it comes in reverse direction and it(bird) is travelling in same direction with other train.
here reltive speed is also 75 kmph w.r.t. other train..
so, how can all r tellng it travels 100km??????
anyone can explain it clearly

- (100 )mph = 100* 1.6 kmh=160kmh
160+25=185 km in 1 hour
1 km in 1/(185)
50 km in 50/(185) =10/37 hr
so in this 15 min bird travelled 160*(10/37)= 43.24 km-------------------(1)
in this 15 min both the train travelled 6.75 km each...
for both train after 15 min distance b/w dem is 50-(6.75+6.75)=36.50
so now....(25+25)=50 km in 1 hr
1 km in 1/(50)
36.50 km in 36.50/ 50 = 0.72 hour
bird travells 1 hour --------------160 km
.72 hr ----------------160*.72 = 116.75km--------------------------------(2)
add (1)+ (2 ) = 160 kmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....................bird travelledddddddddddd - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(17)
- the bird travels from one train to another train with the speed of the 125kmph(100+25) then bird trains will travel to meet takes 1hr time. So the distance covered by the bird is also 125kmph
