In mixture of liters of alcohol and water thier ratio is 3:2.If we want convert the ratio to 2:3then find how much water should be added
Read Solution (Total 6)
-
- x(water)/y(alcohol)=3/2
3/(2+p)=2/3
=> p(water added)=2.5litre

- we doesn't need to solve these kind of question,just need to judge it.
suppose 100 litre of mixture be there,
quantity of alcohal be 60 lit
quantity of water be 40 lit.
if we add 50 litres then water becomes 90 lit,but alcohol remains the same.
50 lit is ANS. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- in one liter :alcohol=600 ml
water=400ml
to convert in 3:2
we add 500ml water
now water=900ml
alcohol=600 ml
600:900 => 2:3 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- using the rule for aliigation and mixture
quantity of mixture : quantity of water=(2/5-0):(3/5-2/5)
which gives 2:1
so ans is half the amount of mixture have to be added - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- correct question In a mixture of 45 liters of alcohol and water thier ratio is 3:2.If we want convert the ratio to 2:3 then find how much of water shuold be added?
a)13.5 liters b)14 liters c)15.5 liters d)12 liters e)22.5 liters - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- now, let existing amount f water and alcohol be (2x)lit. and (3x) lit. respectively.
so, 3x + 2x = 45 which gives x=5
so, existing alcohol= 3*9=27lit. and existing water=2*9=18
let amount of water to be added be y litres
so, 18/(27+x) = 3/2
solving we get x =22.5
ans. 22.5 litres (e) - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
