A semicircle is drawn with ab=diameter from c,a point on ab a line is drawn perpendicular to ab meetting on the circumference f the semi circle.ac-2cm and cd=6 cm.What is the area of the circle?
Read Solution (Total 3)
-
- Ans is 3.14*10*10=314.15
let x is the diameter of circle
then AB=x
at point C ,2cm from is a line is drwan so
AC=2, Cb=x-2
and disatance form C to D is 6 cm let Cd is upside of circle and there exists a point on down side circumstance say dis point as E. So
DE=6+6=12
from chords rule
CD*CE=AC*CB
CB=36/2=18
AB=AC+CB=2+18=20
so diameter of circle is 20 cm
radius of circle is 10 cm
area of circle = pi*10*10 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(1)
- Correct ans is pi*50
previously i gave for entire circle
but correct ans is pi*50 because we have to find area of semi circle - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- it is given dat ac=2,cd=6
let o be the center of the semicircle,so od=radius of semicircle
let radius=x=od=ao
oc=ao-ac=x-2
now we hv a ryt triangle cod
using pythagors theorem
x^2=6^2 +(x-2)^2
x=10
area of semicircle=pi(radius)^2/2
=pi(10)^2/2
=50pi - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
