what is the remainder when the number 1,2,3,.........44,63 divided by 45?

• 1,2,3,....44
  sum of 44 no.=n*n-1/2=44*45/2=990
  990+63=1053
  1053/45...gives remainder=18.

• I think the remainder is 18 because the sum of first 44 terms is 990 so 990+63=1053 and 1053/45 gives remainder 18.

  Let N=123456......44
  
  Remainder when N is divided by 5 is 4
  therefore N=5K+4 ....(1)
  
  remainder when N is divided by 9=>990/9=remainder is 0
  therefore N=9L ....(2)
  
  From 1 and 2 we get
  9L=5K+4
  
  For K=1 this condition gets setisfied.
  
  Least possible number satisfies the condition is 9.
  
  Hence general format of N=w(L.C.M of 9 & 5)+least nmber satifies the condition.
  N=w.45+9
  
  So when N gets devided by 45 we gets 9 as remainder.
