- ans:There is as much coffee in the first tumbler as there is water in the second tumbler
reason:
assume 1st tumbler---->90L of water
2nd tumbler---->90L of coffee
1st step: assume spoon transwers 10L of water from 1st to 2nd tumbler
we have, 1st tumbler---->80L of water
2nd tumbler---->100L(90L coffee + 10L water)
2nd step: transwer 10L of mixture in sec. tumbler to first
(2nd tumbler has 90% coffee & 10% water so, 90% of 10L will be coffee & 10% of 10L will be water i,e 9L coffee & 1L water)
now we have, 2nd tumbler----->(90-9)L coffee & (10-1)L water
i,e 81L coffee & 9L water
1st tumbler----->(80+1)L water & 9L coffee
i,e 81L water & 9L coffee
hence amount of coffee in 1st tumbler(9L)=amount of water in 2nd tumbler(9L) - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(24) No(2)
- there is less coffe in the 1st tumbler than yhe water in the 2nd tumbler

- Suppose spoon can contain 1 unit of liquid and tumblers 100 units
After first move that is from tumb1->tumb2
tumb1 : 99water + 0 coffee
tumb2 : 100coffee + 1 water
After second move that is from tumb2->tumb1
tumb1 :
99+1/101(water1)----100/101(coffee1)----1-1/101(water2)----100-100/101(coffee2)
= 10000/101----100/101----100/101----10000/101
Hence option Ther is as much coffee in first tumbler as there is water in second tumbler is correct.

- THERE IS LESS COFFEEE IN 1ST TUMBLER THAN WATER IN SECOND:
let there be 99L water and coffeee in first and second tumbler. Suppose 1L is taken in 1 spoon, then
1. In 1st step 1L water is transferred to 2nd tumbler . it get mixed with 99L coffee and now 1% water and 99% coffee.
2. In 2nd step 99% of 1L coffee and 1% of 1L water is transferred to 1st tumbler. thus only 990 ml is transferred. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(3)

- tumbler-1 tumbler-2
C W C W
0 10 10 0
after 1st transfer
C W C W
0 9 10 1
after 2nd transfer
C W C W
0+1*10/11 9+(1*1/11) 10 1
10/11 (100/11) 10 1
ratio of coffee and water
1:10-> 1st tumbler
10:1-> 2nd tumbler
coffee in first-> 1/11
water in second->1/11
hence same amount of coffee in first and water in second - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- there is less coffee in the 1st tumbler than the water in the 2nd tumbler
because initially we mix pure water mixture in cofee but after we mixed mixture of water and coffee in first - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(1)
