16 men complete a job in 24 days, 48 kids compete the job in 16 days. 12 men start the work and after 14 days, 12 kids joined the men. In how many days will all of them together complete the remaining work?
Read Solution (Total 2)
-
- Let W=total work done,M=work done by each men per day
K=work done by each kid per day
16*M*24=W
48*K*16=W
Let X be the remaining work done after 14 days
12*M*14+ [(12*M+12*K)*X] =W
putting M,K in terms of W in above equation, we get
X=12
So Remaining work done in 12 days
Total work done in (12+14)=26 days

- 16 men complete 1 work in 24 days , so 12 men complete work in 32 days
Similarly 48 kids compl work in 16 days , so 12 can cmplt it in 64 days
12 men wrk for 14 days work done by them in 14 = 14/32 = 7/16
Rem wrk = 1-7/16 =9/16
12M + 12K together can complete 1 work in (64*32)/(64+32)=64/3 days
12 M + 12 K complete 1 work in 64/3 days
So 12M+12K complete 9/16 work in 64/3 * 9/16 = 12 days
Remaining work in 12 days. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(1)
