- soln.) b
let we assume c.p as x
thn after discount= x*90/100
n after sales tax= 9x/10*108/100
so we have final value as:
9x/10 * 108/100= 68040/100
x=700

- let the price of item is 100
after 10% discount the price will be=100-10=90
tax is 8% on the discounted price=90*8/100=7.2
now the selling price is 90+7.2=97.2.
97.2----680.40
100-----?
=680.40*100/97.2
=700 - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(0)
- The question says that there is a 10% discount on a particular item. Then, 8% is charged on the DISCOUNTED item.
First:
680.4/(1+0.08) = 630.
Now just do the same thing, but with 10% this time:
630/(1-0.10) (this is because it was a discount) = 700. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- let the marked price be x
x-0.1x+0.8(x-0.1x)=680.40
therefore x=420
ans is d) none - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- its 630 because...if marked price z x then 10% of it z .1x and 8% of .1x and .1x sums upto 680.40...now calcualte value of x ...its 630
