- both statements are required ti find the value of y
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(6) No(6)
- only 2nd is enough
y-7=0
=>y=7 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(2)
- Its very simple....
X-4=0..which gives us value of x ie x=4.
Put this value in second equation ll get y = 7. :-) - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(3)
- only statement 2 is sufficient

- this is questn of data suffieciency,,so please give me which option is tru..A/B/C/D?
and why not x-3=0 and x=3???it is also possible.. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(1)
- kamal@ because it is either or situation...
so both r required

- If we take 2nd stat.. Den that means y value can be anything like. if we make x=3, then the whole value will become 0. So we need both the statements to confirm that the answer of y=7.

- only 2nd statement is required......2. (x-3) (y-7)=0
=> x-3=0 or x-7=0...so x is 7 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- both statements are valid because both have independent and solution exists.
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- (x-3)(y-7)=0
means either x-3=0 "OR" y-7=0
=>x=3 "or" y=7
we are not sure and statement 1 confirms it that x-3 not =0 so y-7=0 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
