A monkey is 60 m away from banana tree to left side and 40 m away from mango tree to right side.when tail of monkey pulls from left side it moves 20 m to left and if tell pulls from right side then monkey moves 20 m towards right. This process continues till monkey will reach any of tree.
1. Total number of time when tail pulls=21.
2. Right side pulls 3 times more than left side.

- Both r not sufficient

- i am not getting this question like suppose a monkey will move toward right 20m from the monkey initial position, after 20m if tail will toward left then from new position it will again come initial position, and this will continue and will not reach any of tree.
so,kindly any one understood this question clearly please explain. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(8) No(0)
- 2 is enough

- Here, both statements need to get a soluion,
ans= total no' of pulls in both direction are 21
and ride side pulls 3 times more than left side
hence he pulled right side =12 times and left side =9 times,
soo, he will reached to Banana tree after final pulling. - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(3)
- either of the statement is sufficient to answer...

- ANS- 2 is sufficient
The only thing matters is difference in the number of pulls between right and left side , because only this will affect the relative movement of monkey from its initial position.
Eg- let there be 50 pulls on left side and 50 pulls on right side
Movement in left direction = 50 * 20 = 1000 meters
Movement in right direction = 50 * 20 = 1000 meters ..
Hence, relative movement is 0..
2nd statement says , right pull is 3 more than left pull , Hence relative movement of monkey is 60 meters in right direction.
Mango tree is only 40 meters away - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
- Both are not sufficient bez wen right times pull more than 3 times it should not reach any tree at all bz the no of time 21.. Both are not sufficient
- 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(1)
- Both are Insufficient since total no. of Times tails can be pulled = 26
Right Side= 11, Left Side= 15 . It clearly shows Both the options are not qualifying. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(2)
- Hi frnds,
when the tail moves towards their respective sides......the monkey will not reach the ever.........
So I think the given data is insufficient
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(2)
- Both the conditions together are required to identify the position of monkey but monkey will travel to 60m in right ...i.e 20m away from the mango tree..
(x) +(x+3) =21.....{x-->no. of times monkey travelled in left direction)
x=9
so,
240m in right and 180m in left so monkey travelled in right direction for 60m
correct me, if I'm wrong. - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- Both statement are required because , number of pull is necessary to determine ,.. Total distance cover by monkey, while second statement provides the information ,final position.
- 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- both are necessary to answer because a gives total no of moves then b gives difference between the left and right moves and yes monkey will reach to the mango tree at the end.
