How many numbers are there between 100 and 1000 such that atleast one of their digits is 6?

• numbers between 100 and 1000 = 900
  numbers between 100 and 1000 which do not have digit 6 in any place = 8 x 9 x 9 = 648
  Unit digit could take any value of the 9 values (0 to 9, except 6)
  Tens Digit could take any value of the 9 values (0 to 9, except 6)
  Hundreds digit could take any value of the 8 values (1 to 9, except 6)
  
  therefore
  numbers between 100 and 1000 which have atleast one digit as 6 = 900 - 648 = 252

  ex:
  106,116,126,136,146,156,160,161,162,163,164,165,166,167,168,169,176,,186,196.
  so, for 100 to 599 there are 5*19=95
  600 to 699 - 100 '6' are available. *
  and finally 700 to 1000 3*19=57.
  Hence the Answer: 95+100+57=252

  the numbers that have 6 in tens place=9p2=72(we can fill other places with digits with 0to9)
  the numbers that 6in ones place=9p2=72(this also we can fill with digits 0to9)
  so the numbers between 100to1000 such that atleast one of their digits is 6=
  99+72+72=243

  ex:
  106,116,126,136,146,156,160,161,162,163,164,165,166,167,168,169,176,,186,196.
  so, for 100 to 599 there are 5*20=100
  600 to 699 - 100 '6' are available=120
  and finally 700 to 1000 3*20=60.
  Hence the Answer: 100+120+60=280
