Five years ago, the avearge age of P and Q was 15 years. Average age of P, Q and R today is 20 years. How old will R be after 10 years ?

• average age of p & q 5 year ago was 15 ie ((p-5)+(q-5))/2=15
  p+q=40
  
  present age of p q & r is 20 year is p+q+r=60
  putting p+q=40 in above eq we get r=20
  
  after 10 years the age will be 20+10 is 30 years

• take x &y as age of P & q 5 yrs back.
  x+y/2=15
  current,
  x+5+y+5/2=15+5
  x+y=40;
  p+q+r/3=20
  p+q+r=60;
  r=60-40=20;
  after 10 yrs R's age will be 20+10=30 yrs

• (p+q+10)/2=15....p+q=20
  (p+q+r)/3=20....p+q+r=60
  r=60-(p+q)=60-20=40
  ans. 40 years
