It takes 30 days to fill a laboratory dish with bacteria. If the size of the bacteria doubles each day, how long did it take for the bacteria to fill one half of dish?

  if it doubles....x+2x+4x+8x=15x(half of the dish).
  so four days.

  The size of bacteria doubles each day it means from half dish it will become full dish in one day. As the dish gets filled in 30 days, So it means the dish was half full of bacteria on 29th day and became full on 30th day.
