- 6 years in prison means 6 years back. So the equation is F-6=5(S-6) and another equation is F=3S. Solve both you get F=36, S=12. So when son was born he should be 36-12=24 years.
- 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(0)
- Take captain's age as 'x' and pirates age as 'y'.
By hypothesis, x-6=5(y-6)--->(1) and x=3y---->(2).
After solving (1)and (2), We can get x=36& y=12.
Therefore pirate's age when his son was born=36-12=24 - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)

THEREFORE AGE OF FATHER IS 20 - 6 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- Take ages of father and son as 'f' & 's' respectively.
According to the problem, f-6=5(s-6) and f=3s.
From these two equations, we can get f=36 and s=12.
Hence, pirate's age when his son was born=36-12=24 - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
