a coffee seller has two types of coffee Brand A costing 5 bits per pound and Brand B costing 3 bits
per pound. he mixes two brands to get a 40 pound mixture. he sold this at 6 bits per pound. the seller
gets a profit of 33 1/2 percent. how much he has used Brand A in the mixture?

• cost price of mixture=(100*selling price of mixture)/(100+profit)=(100*6)/(100+33.5) =600/133.5=Rs 4.50(approximately),
  Then ratio of A and B = (4.50-3):(5-4.50)=3:1,
  Therefore Brand A in 40 pound mixture=40*3/4=30 (ANS),
  and Brand B = 40*1/4=10.

• selling prize=40*6=240 bits,,profit is given as 33.5%.i.e,33.5*240/100=80.4bits.
  profit=selling price-cost price,so cost=240-80.4=159.6(160)....so cost of the product is divided accordingly for 40 pounds,,20*5=100 & 20*3=60(100+60=160)so 20 pounds of brand A is used.....

• if X is amount of A in 40 pound mix then 40-x will be B.....earn toatal amount will be 40 pound*6 bit/pound=240...total cost of mix =5X+3*(40-X)=120+2X,,NOW PROFIT=[120+2X] +[(120+2X)*0.67]=240;
