At present, the ratio between the ages of Arun and Deepak is 4 : 3. After 6 years, Arun's age will be 26 years. What is the age of Deepak at present ?

• lets make this into again a simple thing :D ..lets rock and roll
  
  now at present instead of ages ratios are given..so we take 4x and 3x
  
  and after 6 years arun age is 26 ... so [present age + 6 = 26](according to question)
  
  and so present age of arun = 4x which gives
  4x + 6 = 26
  
  solving x we get 5
  
  question is for deepak age and deepak's present age is 3x and substituting x in 3x = 3(5) = 15
  
  so answer is 15 years option B.15 for sure!! whenever u feel u did not understand anything just write down the given data...and try to get the answer...thats the secret of maths :D

  As the ratio between the present ages of Arun and Deepak is 4 : 3, So
  Deepak's Present age = (3/4)of Arun's Present age
  Arun's Present age = (4/3) of Deepak's Present age
  After 6 years, Arun's age will be 26 years, so
  Arun's Present age = 26 - 6 = 20 years
  Thus Deepak's Present age = (3/4)*20 = 15 years
  Hence Ans. is B. 15 years
