Alok and Bhanu play the following min-max game. Given the expression
N = 9 + X + Y - Z Where X, Y and Z are variables representing single digits (0 to 9), Alok would like to maximize N while Bhanu would like to minimize it. Towards this end, Alok chooses a single digit number and Bhanu substitutes this for a variable of her choice (X, Y or Z). Alok then chooses the next value and Bhanu substitutes the value. Finally Alok proposes the value for the remaining variable. Assuming both play to their optimal strategies, the value of N at the end of the game would be
a) 0 b) 27 c) 18 d) 20

- the equation is N=9+X+Y-Z
initially Alok put z=0 to maximize N;
then Bhanu will put 0 on the place of x or Y then equation will turn in to
N=9+x or 9+y
then Alok will put 9 on the place of x or y
then N will be (9+9)=18
Ans will be 18. - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(2)
- N=9+x+y-z
for maximize N alok will choose the value of x as max so he select a digit 9..
but bhanu substitute this value in Z(=9).
now eqn is
N= 9+x+y-9= X+Y
alok than select the values 9
which bhanu replace in
N=9+y then alok choose 9 for remaining y
so
N=18 - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(0)

- N=9+X+Y-Z,
in thumb rule,X+Y-Z=11,X-Y-Z=2,X*Y-Z=18
so ans is,20 - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(6)
- ans: 20.., x+y-z=11, and if it s x-y-z=2 and for x*(y-z)=18... so 9+x+y-z= (9+11)=20

- first when alok maximize N then it will substitude 9&9on the place of x,y then the value will be 27(becoz 9 is the max.value b/w 0 to 9).
after that when bhanu minimize it with using 27 then value will be 36.
FINALLY when alok substitude the value it will same i.e.9
so the value of N at the end will 27. - 14 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(15)
- susequently put the values in the equation............xcept 0 and 9

- N=9+x+y-z
here x+y-z=11
N=9+11=20 - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(3)
- answer is 20... because X+Y-z = 11 for this sort of problems
- 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(1)
- It is a logical question for alok bhanu problem x+y+z=11
so here 9+11=20
so answer is 20 - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
