Read Solution (Total 10)
-
- 3x and 5x
total investment=3x+5x
=8x
3x+3x*25%=15x/4
5x-5x*10%=9x/2
total income=33x/4
total profit=33x/4-8x=x/4

- lets take investments as 300 and 500...25 % profit on 300 means 75...10 % loss on 500 means 50(loss)..total profit 25,,,profit %= (25/800)*100=3.125...this can b done mentally...

- Let the investments be 300 and 500.
Gain on 300= 25% of 300= 75
loss on 500= 10% of 500= 50
total investment= 800
net gain or loss= 75-50= 25 gain
so
gain = 25*100/800 %= 3.125%.
so answer is= 3.125% gain - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(5) No(0)

- let the ratio be 75:125 for easy calculation
therefore,
gain=25% of 75=18.75 & loss=10% of 125=12.5
net gain= 18.75-12.5=6.25
gain%=(6.25/200)*100=3.125

- let investment1=x,investment2=y.
x/y=3/5. so,y=5x*3.
25% gain in x & 10% loss in y..so,0.25*x-0.1y=net gain/loss.
gain or loss %={(0.25x-0.1y)/x+y}*100
=>{(0.25x-0.166x)/2.67x}*100 (since,y=5/3*x)
=>(0.083/2.66)*100
=>3.125% gain as the result is +ve.. - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
