3 male and 3 female singers sat around a circular table alka is a female singer did not sit adjacent to a male singer and sonu is a male singer did not sit adjacent to a female singer the no. of ways this could be done?

• My earlier solution is wrong
  alka has 6 vacant places to choose from whereas sonu will always have to sit opposite to alka
  hence it should br 6*2*2=24

• first make a circular table and make be seated alka and sonu now you will see you have two space for 2 male singers and 2 spaces for 2 female singers
  so it can be done = 2 x 2
  = 4 ways

  intially alka has 6 vacantplaces to choose from
  and sonu is left with 3
  thereby other female and male members are left with 2
  therefore 6*3*2*2=72
