- let total profit x.
distributed Profit : 2/3*x.
A/B=17:13
A's Share in profit : 17/30*2x/3 = 17x/45
B's Share in profit : 13/30*2x/3 = 13x/45
given A=B+800
=>17x/45=13x/45+800
=> 4x/45=800
=>x=9000(ans)
Total profit =9000

- In actual question A's investment was 1700
So by this we got there investment was in the ratio of 17 to 13 after equating in to the equation of (x+800)/x
i.e.
17/13 = (x+800)/x
we will get the value of x as 200
and after multiplying 200*13 we will get 2600
and A's share will be 2600+800 = 3400
and as we know from the question it's the 1/3 of the actual money
So the total of there money is 2600 + 3400 = 6000
so the 2/3 which will give us 12000
So the total profit will be 6000 + 12000 = 18000
i.e. option c in today's elitmus paper.

- Sorry the value of x will be 2600
I.E. the profit of B
And the profit of A will be 2600+800 = 3400
Which also satisfy the condition of ratio I E. 17:13 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
