  so (300+500)=800.
  15% earn in 300= 300*(115/100)=345.
  10% loss in 500 =500*(90/100)=450.
  so (345+450)=795.
  so the loss %= ((800-795)/800)*100=5/8.

  first investment 15% gain =345
  second investment 10% loss =450
  300+500=800 --->1
  345=450=795 --->2
  from 1 & 2 we get 5% loss then
  loss%= 5/800*100 = 5/8%
