In a 100 m race, A can beat B by 25 m and B can beat C by 4 m. In the same race, A can beat C by:
A. 21 m
B. 26 m
C. 28 m
D. 29 m
Read Solution (Total 7)
-
- C. 28 m
When, A=100, B=75 => A : B = 4 : 3
When, B=100, C=96 => B : C = 25 : 24
So, A : B : C = (4x25) : (3x25) : (3x24) = 100 : 75 : 72
=> When A covers 100 m, C covers 72 m. Therefore A can beat C by 100-72=28 m. - 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(6) No(3)
- A=B+25
B=C+4
A=C+4+25
A=C+29
Ans-29 - 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(4)
- if A=100m then B=100-25=75m
A:B=100:75=4:3
if B=100m then C=100-4=96m
B:C=100:96=25:24
then A:B:C=4:3
25:24
=25*4:3*25:3*24=100:75:72
if A=100m then C=72m
A can beat C by 100-72=28m
therefore answer is 28m - 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- Total 100m race
A beat B by 25m ...so A reaches destination and B is 25m behind
B beats C means ...B completes the race and C is behind B by 4m
So, after B completing the race of 25m towards A , C will be (25-4)m behind A
So , and is 21m - 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(7)
- A=100
B=75
C=72
Ans=28 - 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- A:B= 100:75
B:C=100:96
A:C= A:B × B:C = 4:3 × 25:24
A:C = 100:72
so A beat C by 100-72= 28m - 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- Consider A=100 m;
so A=25+B, so B=75 m ( 100-25);
B=4+C, so C= 72 m;
=> A can beat C by 100-72=28 m - 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
