If you had an infinite supply of water and a 5 quart and 3 quart pail, how would you measure exactly 4 quarts?

• Take water in 5 quart container. and pour 3 quart in 3 quart container.
  2 quart water is left in 5 quart container.
  Empty 3 litre container and then pour 2 litr water in it from 5 quart container.
  Now fill 5 quart container with water and pour 1 litre water in 1 litre space available in 3 quart container.
  Now u r left with 4 quart water in 5 quart container.

• Take the water from the 3 quart pail and put it into 5 quart and while repeat again we get one quart of water remain in 3 quart pail . Empty the 5 quart pail and transfer the one quart of water from 3 quart pail to 5 quart pail . Fill the water in the 3 quart pail and tranfer to 5 quart pail . Now we get 4 quarts pail of water

• Step 1: Fill the 3 quart pail and empty it in the 5 quart pail.
  Step 2: Fill the 3 quart pail again and use it to fill the remaining 5 quart pail. So, the 5 quart pail is completely filled and there is 1 quart left in 3 quart pail
  Step 3: Empty the 5 quart pail
  Step 4: Put the remaining 1 quart from the 3 quart pail to the 5 quart pail.
  Step 5: Fill the 3 quart pail completely and empty it in the 5 quart pail.
  
  So, we have 1 + 3 = 4 quart in the 5 quart pail

• step.1 -fill water in the 3 Quart pail and put it into 5 quart.
  step 2.- Again fill 3 quart pail and put it into 5 quart again,and 1 quart of water will left into 3 quart pail.
  step 3.- throw out whole water from 5 quart and put 1 quart of water into 5 quart pail.a
  step 4. fill 3 quart pail anf put it into 5 quart pail . there will be 4 quarts in it

• Answer depends on how many pail do we have.. if its only two 5 and 3 then there will be no solution ... if there is many pail of 5 and 3 then we can come up with solution in easy way
