Q. A certain straight corridor has four doors, A, B, C and D (in that order) leading off from the same side. How far apart are doors B and C? The distance between doors B and D is 10 meters. The distance between A and C is 12 meters.

• AB+BC=12 and BC+CD =10 hence BC=12-AB and BC= 10-CD hence 12-AB = 10 -CD

  B and C is d2
  C and D is d3
  so d1+d2=12
  d2+d3=10
  
  subtracting two eqn we will get d1-d3=2
  or d1=2+d3
  
  now think for a value for d3
  let it is 4 (i am gvng here the crct ans for the 1st attempt u can try another choice)
  so d1=d3+2=6
  now which value will be added so that d1+d2=12 and d2+d3=10
  then the ans for d2 is 6

• I think the ans is 5 the distance btw B and D is 10 so B C D it would be 5 and 5 then the dis btw A and C is 12 since 5 is there the 12-5=7 so A to B is 7 B to C is 5 and C to D is 5
