Time Distance and Speed
Tim and Elan are 90 km from each other. They start to move towards each other simultaneously Tim at speed 10 kmph and Elan 5 kmph. If every hour they double their speed what is the distance that Tim will pass until he meet Elan.

- 0..................90
AFTER 1ST HR
10................85
AFTER 2ND HR
30................75
AFTER 2.30MIN
50..............65
AFTER 2.45MIN
60.........60
so they meet at 60 km from tim

- first of all take the ratio 10:5 as 2:1
therefore 2+1=3
now tim ratio=2
every hour they double the speed
current speed of tim=90
which means 90*2/3=60 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(16) No(0)
- let the distance traveled by tim is x km.
then
x/10= (90-x)/5
15x=900
x=60 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(15) No(3)

so they meet at 60 km from tim
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(1)
- after 2 hor distance between them is 45 km..speed ratio after 2 hr-40:20=2:1..so that 45 km will be divided by 2:1 tim-- 2/3*45=30 km
so total distance for tim = 10+20+30=60 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(0)
