To the 2nd customer he sells half of what he sells half of what he had left & half an egg. & to the 3rd customer he sells half what he had then left & half an egg. By the way he did not break any eggs. In the end three eggs were remaining . How many total eggs he was having ?

  eggs left = x/2 -1/2
  eggs sold to 2nd person = x/4 - 1/4 +1/2 = x/4 +1/4
  eggs left = x/4 -3/4
  eggs sold to 3rd person = x/8 - 3/8 + 1/2= x/8 +7/8
  
  so x/8 - 7/8 =3
  x -7 =24
  x=31
