- Let d original fraction be x/y
(x+1)/(y+1) = 1/2
2x+2 = y+1
y = 2x+1
x/(y-x) = 3/4
x/(2x+1-x) = 3/4
x/(x+1) = 3/4
4x = 3x+3
x = 3
y = 2(3)+1 => y=7
Fraction is x/y => 3/7
Ans : (2) 3/7 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(33) No(1)
- 3/7
by applying the condition on options the suitable fraction is 3/7.
(3+1)/(7+1)= 4/8=1/2
and 7-3=4 therefre the frction becomes 3/4 on subtractin numerator frm denominator . - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(0)
- If
numerator is subtracted from the denominator, the fraction becomes 3/4....how can we analyse this statement??? - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(0)
- "Numerator is subtracted from the denominator" =>
denom. is y... from y, subtract x... so y-x
Assuming numerator remains same... so x/(y-x) - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(1)

- the eq will be
(x+1)/(y+1)=1/2
&
x/(y-x)=3/4
After solving and equating both we get x=3 & y=7
so the fraction will be 3/7

- its 3/7
coz 3+1/7+1=1/2 and 3/7-3=3/4 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
