The price of a commodity(in rupees per kilogram) is 100 + 0.1n, on the nth day of 2007 (n = 1, 2,….., 100), and then remains constant. On the other hand, the price of another commodity (in rupees per kilogram) is 89 + 0.15n, on the nth day of 2007 (n=1,2, …, 365). On which date in 2007, will the price of these two commodities be equal?
a. May 21
b. April 11
c. May 20
d. April 10
Read Solution (Total 9)
-
- 20 may
100 + 0.1*100 =110
110 = 89 + 0.15n
solving this
n = 140 days
which is 20th of may

Now this is which date...... To find out........
From jan to may 31...... Total days 151..... And 151-140=11.......So 31st may - 11 days =20th may (ans) - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- may 21, total days=140,
cost =rs 110 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(2)
- 100+.10 after 100 days 100+10=110 89+.15*100=104 89+.15n=110 so ans is 20 may
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- 110 = 89.15 + (n-1)*(0.15)
20.95 = (n-1)*(0.15)
by solving
n = 140.33
thus we should take 141th day and that is May 21
ans= May 21 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(1)
- may 20 is the ans
