- let three numbers be x,y,z and arranged in value order.
Given median is 5
so y=5.
mean=(x+5+z)/3=x+10 and (x+5+z)/3=z-15.
solving equation we get
x=0,z=25
sum=0+5+25=30 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(26) No(1)
- suppose three numbers be x,y,z
acc. to ques median is 5
so y=5(because median is value of (n+1)th term if n is odd after arranged them in ascending or descending order)
where n is no. of element here n=3
mean=(x+5+z)/3=x+10 and (x+5+z)/3=z-15.
on solving we get
x=0,z=25
So,SUM=0+5+25=30 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(0)

- let three no. be a,b,c
mean x
where a smallest and c largest
accrdng to qustn
x/3=10+a;
x/3=c-15;
10+a= c-15;
25 =c+a;
median is 5 (given)
hence 5 can be any no.
a+b+c=25+5

- three nos are 0 5 and 25... and their sum is 30
- 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(1)
- Let the mean of the three numbers be x.
Now as per the criteria mentioned in the problem,
the least number must be = x-10
the greatest number must be = x+15
now the median value is given which is the middle number if the set is sorted which is = 5
Therefore , we can say,
((x-10)+5+(x+15))/3=x
solving we get, x=10
Therefore, the sum is 30.
