  now suppose t years ago h was twice k.
  (h-t)=2(k-t).....1
  at that time h was as old as paul now
  h-t=k........2
  so from 1 & 2
  2k-2t=k;
  k=2t.......3
  from 2 & 3
  h=3t;......4
  from 1 5t=35;
  t=7;
  from 4 h=21....
  so peter is 21 year old...this should be ans.

  Lets Peter age =x
  and paul age 35-x;
  and when peter was as old as paul is now mean when peter is 35-x yr old
  then it is 2*(35-x-k)
  so let wer equate these
  35-x=2*(35-x-k)
  x+2k=35
  x-k=2k
  x=3k
  and get
  k=7
  and then x=21
