Twenty-four men can complete a work in 16 days. Thirty- two women can complete the same work in twenty-four days. Sixteen men and sixteen women started working and worked for 12 days. How many more men are to be added to complete the remaining work in 2 days?

m1*d1=m2*d2
=> 24*16=16*x(x is no of days)
=> 16 men can complete the work in 24 days(x=24)
16 mens 12 days work=(1/24)*12=1/2
16 womens 12 days work=1/4(because 1 men=2 women)
16 days total work by men&women =(1/2)+(1/4)=3/4
remaining work=1-(3/4)=1/4
1 man's 2 days work=(1/(16*24))2=1/192
therefore 1/4 work can be completed by

assume that total work is 1. so 24 man in 16 days complete the total work 1. so 1 man in 16 days done 1/24 and 1 man in 1 day done 1/24*16 and 16 man in 12 days done 16*12/24*16=1/2.. in d same way 16 women in 12 days done 16*12/32*24=1/4.. so 16 man and 16 women in 12 days done (1/2+1/4)=3/4.. remaining work(1-3/4)=1/4.. now 1/24*16 is done in 1 day by 1 men.. so 1/4 in 2 days is done by 24*16/4*2=48 days - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)
